FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Border2Border Entertainment is proud to announce that The CW in the United States has officially acquired the scripted comedy series Avocado Toast and the unscripted reality dating series Dating Unlocked, now available on The CW App and streaming platform.
This marks a major expansion of Border2Border’s footprint in the U.S. market, placing both series alongside The CW’s growing slate of buzzy, youth-driven programming. Fans of character-forward comedies like Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex Girlfriend will find a natural home in Avocado Toast, while audiences who devoured CW reality hits like FBoy Island and Lovers and Liars will be drawn to the heartfelt vulnerability and modern romantic twists of Dating Unlocked, a format that explores connection, intimacy, and authenticity in the digital age.
Created by and starring Heidi Lynch and Perrie Voss, Avocado Toast follows two millennial best friends navigating love, identity, and adulthood in Toronto with razor-sharp wit and emotional honesty. The award-winning series is produced by Border2Border Entertainment, with Charlie David serving as Executive Producer and with Director Sam Coyle helming all episodes. Lynch and Voss deliver standout performances alongside a vibrant ensemble cast including Alexander Nunez, Nelu Handa, Faye Marsay, Scott Cavalheiro, Elena Juatco, Izad Etemadi, Prince Amponsah, Farid Yazdani, Katelyn McCulloch and Scott Farley and a slate of notable guest stars. Since its debut, the series has earned critical acclaim and multiple awards for its fresh voice, inclusive storytelling, and unapologetically funny take on chosen family and modern relationships.
In additional major U.S. distribution news, NBCUniversal’s Peacock and Peacock Premium Plus have acquired Border2Border Entertainment’s acclaimed docuseries Drag Heals (Season 1), along with Avocado Toast, introducing both series to millions of new viewers.
Drag Heals, produced by Border2Border Entertainment, created by Tracey Erin Smith, Nickolaos Stagias and Charlie David follows individuals from diverse backgrounds as they discover empowerment, healing, and transformation through the art of drag under the mentorship of world-class drag artists. Drag Heals is directed by Charlie David with a total of four seasons comprised of thirty-two episodes.
These acquisitions reflect growing global demand for Border2Border Entertainment’s signature storytelling of bold, inclusive, and emotionally resonant television and reinforces the company’s position as a leading creator of original scripted and unscripted content for international audiences.
