We’re thrilled to announce that Men on the Moon, a new digital series from Border2Border Entertainment, has been selected by the Independent Production Fund (IPF) and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) for development funding as part of the 2025 short-form series program.
The announcement, shared in Playback, marks a major milestone in the evolution of this unique and captivating project.
Written and directed by emerging talent Raghed Charabaty, Men on the Moon first caught our attention at the Canadian Film Centre student showcase. Producer Charlie Lubiniecki was immediately drawn to Charabaty’s short film of the same name, stating:
“I was immediately captivated by the story and the obvious artistry and romanticism that Charabaty was able to bring to the screen. We are very excited to be developing Men on the Moon into a series with the investment from the Independent Production Fund and Canada Media Fund.”
A poetic and visually daring story, Men on the Moon explores themes of fantasy, trauma, and truth. At its heart, the series is a surreal journey—sensual, strange, and deeply human. Charabaty reflects on the personal inspiration behind the story:
“This story comes from a fantasy I've had after surviving something pretty shocking. It blossomed into a dreamlike escapade that comes crashing down, into an honest truth we so often try to avoid. What a pleasure to develop this series with Charlie and the team at Border2Border Entertainment. I hope you're ready for this sensual, odd, and otherworldly adventure.”

At Border2Border Entertainment, we’re committed to telling bold and imaginative stories by and for
historically underrepresented voices. With the support of the IPF and CMF, Men on the Moon will move forward through development with the care, creativity, and collaboration it deserves.
We can’t wait to share more about this unforgettable series as it takes shape—stay tuned.
