We’re beyond excited to share some fantastic news from Denver—Settle Down has won Best Comedy Pilot at SeriesFest Season 10, and Alexander Nunez took home Best Writer for his work on the series!
SeriesFest is one of the leading global festivals championing episodic storytelling, and these wins are a huge honour. The International Independent Pilot Competition highlights the most innovative and compelling new voices in television—and we’re thrilled to see Settle Down recognized on this incredible stage.

Directed by Sam Coyle and written by Alexander Nunez and Izad Etemadi, Settle Down follows Mason, a charismatic matchmaker and host of a wildly popular podcast about love, sex, and relationships. Mason’s business is booming, helping clients from all walks of life find their perfect match—but behind the scenes, his own romantic life is a total mess.
The recognition for Settle Down and for Alexander’s brilliant writing speaks volumes about the creative team and the heart behind this project. We’re proud to see a story that centers queer joy, messy friendships, and chosen family connect so deeply with audiences and juries alike.
Thank you to the jury and the entire SeriesFest team for this incredible honour—and to our amazing partners at OutTV, Independent Production Fund, Ontario Creates, Bell Fund, and Canada Media Fund for supporting this series from the very beginning.
This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for updates on where to watch Settle Down, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, and exciting news about what’s next for Mason and the team.
